We had a wonderful visit with three local youth leaders last week. Bishop High School Seniors Scott Hennarty (red shirt), Cristofer Ruiz Sandoval and Emily Batcheller spoke to us of the great experiences they each had at the Rotary Youth Leadership Awakening camp at Grizzly Creek Ranch near Portola, CA in February. In addition to being a great outdoor camp experience, RYLA offers students an opportunity to grow as individuals and as leaders in their schools and communities. Along the way they also built communication and problem-solving skills. Scott, Cristofer and Emily shared stories about their adventures in rock climbing and on a confidence building ropes course and the fun of making new lasting friendships without the presence of cell phones!
